The Side Seam Gluing Solution from Baumer hhs is a contactless cold glue application system for side seam gluing on folder gluers. Designed for folding carton production, it replaces conventional glue wheel systems with a contactless application system featuring the PX 1000 cold glue valve and integrated product detection. Adhesive is applied precisely to the glue flap without the application system touching the carton. The solution integrates easily into existing folder gluers and supports reliable production at a wide range of machine speeds.

Replacing glue wheels and glue pans helps reduce cleaning effort and makes more production time available. The contactless glue application also enables the Glue Save Mode, which divides the adhesive pattern into short stitches instead of a continuous bead. Depending on the application, adhesive consumption can be reduced by up to 50% while maintaining reliable bonding performance. Eliminating the glue tank also reduces adhesive waste and production interruptions. With integrated product detection and the automatic mode of the Xact up controller, no setup is required for many job changes.
